Railway Safety in Estonia -

          30

          - Annual Report 2011

The aim of the prevention work related to rescue

is shaping the Estonian living environment so that

everybody could appraise safety and security and would

be ready to contribute to it.

          This would help considerably

to reduce the number of accidents and fatalities thereof,

as well as the damage caused by the accidents.

In previous years, the cooperation between OLE and the

Rescue Board has taken place in locations all around

Estonia, mostly in KEAT safety camps and the Safety

Days targeted at the general public. We are planning to

continue our cooperation covering these projects also in

2012 by communicating safety messages to people and

teaching them correct behaviour in case of emergencies.

In 2011, the safety days organised by the Rescue Board

around Estonia were attended by 17,640 people. They

listened and learned how to protect their close ones

and prevent accidents. In 2011, the

KEAT safety camps had 2,130 young

participants. We wish to expand our

cooperation with OLE and thus increase

the number of people trained. Together

we can bring our safety message to every

          corner of Estonia.
