Mission
OLE’s mission is to signifi cantly increase public
awareness of the possible dangers accompanying
railway traffi c and of the correct behaviour on the
railway in order to decrease the number of railway
accidents and the people killed or injured as the
result of those accidents.
Programme
Operation Lifesaver’s activities are supported by
three pillars – Education, Enforcement
and Engineering
EDUCATION
OLE teaches correct behaviour at level crossings
and in other dangerous areas. Training events do not
only involve free public lectures and presentations;
we also regularly inform the public of railway safety.
We also organise railway safety campaigns, prepare
and distribute informational materials.
ENFORCEMENT
OLE supports active adherence to the rules
established by laws and other normative documents,
because otherwise collisions and other accidents on
railways keep happening.
ENGINEERING
OLE supports continuous increase of safety at level
crossings, by recommending better design and
installation of technological equipment.
