In 2011 OLE presented its sixth “Golden Level Crossing
Gates” award of gratitude. With this award we want
to recognise the contribution of those persons and
organisations whose daily work is not directly related to
promoting railway safety.
During the railway safety week held from April 25 to May
1 last year, OLE donated its highest award to
Andrei Sozionovile, Editor of Radio 4 of Estonian National
Broadcasting Company, for regular broadcasting of
railway safety issues in his radio programmes.
The OLE presenter of the year title was given in 2011 to
Kristel-Liis Kaunismaa from Northern Prefecture. OLE’s
honorary medals for long-term promotion of railway
safety were donated to Tarmo Miilits from the Police and
Border Guard Board, Urmas Lükk from South Western
Railway and Annela Floren from the Eastern Prefecture of
the Police and Boarder Guard Board.
We are satisfied with the cooperation agreement signed
with NPO Laitse Rally Park according to which this
organisation and OLE will build a railway level crossing
in the traffic training area of the rally park and set
up a railway safety stand in the main building of the
organisation.

Honorary Medal
Operation Lifesaver Estonia’s Honorary Medal is
presented to Estonian or foreign citizens who have
contributed significantly in promoting of railway safety
in Estonia or to persons whose actions have prevented
a railway incident or accident with potential serious
consequences.
