On December 13 the non-profit organisation Operation Lifesaver Estonia addressing public railway safety issues launches another traditional Christmas campaign “Let the Train Pass! You are Expected Home for Christmas.”
The campaign lasts for two weeks (13-24 December 2010)
The purpose of the campaign is to remind everybody involved in traffic that they should dedicate more time to crossing railway lines and make sure that they are acting in a safe manner. One should always let the approaching train pass!
The campaign is a continuation to the Christmas campaigns held in 2008 and 2009.
The first Christmas campaign carrying the same message was organised in 2004.
The campaign is organised with the help of AS Eesti Raudtee (Estonian Railways) and Edelaraudtee AS (South-Eastern Railways).
OLE’s cooperation partners in organising the campaign are also the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board, Estonian Road Administration and Technical Surveillance Authority.
The campaign message is communicated to the public by the Estonian Association of Broadcasters, Electric Railway and TV3.
