5. JUUNIKS 2011
The photo contest “Railway and I” organised by Operation
Lifesaver Estonia received works depicting special
moments and angles related to railways.
As expected, the photographers captured a wide range of
objects related to rail transport - some of them noticed
trains, some nature, some looked back in time and some
tried to depict presence.
Although the contest poster said explicitly that walking
on railway is prohibited, we still received many photos
of people posing happily on railway tracks. Despite to
the fact that some of these photos could have had some
artistic value, our jury decided not to allow these photos
to compete, as violation of traffic rules and OLE do not
match.
The contest received 148 works from 64 authors between
ages 12 and 72. The jury of the contest consisted of the
following members:
Ain Köster
(Baltic News Service),
Kadri Hunt
(Tallinn City
Social and Health Protection Board),
Norbert Kaareste
(Electric Railway),
Alex Kaska
(JCDecaux Eesti OÜ),
